Sara studied at Oxford University and has specialised in family law since qualifying as a solicitor in 1995. She has wide experience of resolving disputes concerning divorce, the separation of unmarried couples and children as well as the preparation of pre-marital contracts and "living together" agreements. Many of her cases have complex financial or international elements. She has been a partner at Alexiou Fisher Philipps since 2003 and a qualified collaborative lawyer since 2006. She speaks fluent French and enjoys sport and travel. She is married with one daughter.

Sara is a member of Resolution, formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association and has been recommended as a leading family lawyer in the Legal 500 and Chambers Directory for several years, described in the latest edition of Chambers as an "independent, efficient and no-nonsense lawyer who can hold her own in the high net worth divorce market." She regularly takes part in BBC radio programmes commenting on family law issues and has appeared in a Channel 4 documentary on the consequences of family breakdown. She also lectures on developments in family law and writes for the legal press. She is committed to the collaborative process in particular where there are children involved, as she believes that it provides the best possible prospect for a continuing working relationship between the parents in the care of their children.
